Sports betting is finally running in the state of Indiana, representing the 13th state to have legal betting in the United States.
Indiana Grand Racing and Casino in Shelbyville got things started at the start of the month, days before the start of the NFL season, and six more Caesars properties in The Hoosier State are also slated to launch this month, rapidly expanding its sports betting presence.
At the moment, sports betting is allowed only for in-person retail sportsbooks at Indiana casinos, racinos, and off-track betting parlors.
Indiana regulators are now trying to finalize a framework to allow sports betting apps.
However, this is likely to take at least a month, if not more.
Anyhow, sports betting is now underway under the “home of the Indy 500” state and barring any other “yellow flags”, online betting should be running soon, making it as exciting as the final laps to the brickyard checkered flag.
