This time next week, Pennyslvanians will have even more choice when betting on the Steelers or the 76ers as DraftKings make their online sports betting debut in PA.
Having had their license approved by the PGCB, the fantasy sports behemoth will join SugarHouse, Rivers, Parx, Fox Bet and of course FanDuel with whom they will lock horns with in a fourth different state.
DraftKings will provide stiff competition for market leaders FanDuel as they’ve done in New Jersey, West Virginia and Indiana. Bettors can ready themselves then for substantial bonuses to come their way as they attempt to claim some of the market share from their long time rival.
Here’s what you need to know about DraftKings Sportsbook PA:
- DK the sixth online sportsbook to launch in Keystone state
- Will partner with the Meadows Racetrack & Casino, owned by Penn Gaming
- DraftKings to serve as the Meadows online sports wagering operator
- $200 first bet match offer expected for new customers
- DraftKings app available on iOS and Android
It’s no surprise to see big name after big name flock to the Keystone State. The appetite for sports betting among the sports mad state is arguably as high as it is anywhere in the US.
Online wagering accounted for $158 million of the record figure of $194.5 million wagered in the state during September. It’s easy to forget the market is barely five months old.
As the market continues to grow and competition increase, it’s thought Pennsylvania sports betting could eventually put Nevada and New Jersey in the shade.
