“Pick 6” Bets for Monday Night Football

16 September 2019

NFL’s week 2 wraps up tonight with a very special Monday Night Football when the Cleveland Browns take on the New York Jets at the Meadowlands. Part of one more event to celebrate NFL’s 100th season, this game will be a rematch of the very first ever Monday night game, played in week 1 back in 1970.

Let’s look at 6 good bets for MNF.

Total Points 45.5 (-110)

Two very good defensive teams and both had very disappointing performances in week 1. A low scoring affair could be on the menu tonight, particularly when NY is starting a backup QB. Take the under.

Trevor Siemian Passing Yards 222.5 (-115)

Replacing Sam Darnold won’t be easy but I think Siemian will do a decent job. Having said that, the Jets will likely take a run-first approach and overuse Le’Veon Bell. With the line at 222.5, take the under.

Le’Veon Bell Rushing Yards 66.5 (-134)

Bell should eclipse the 70-yard mark as New York should go easy with Siemian. Bell had 60 yards week 1 but that was against a very strong Bills defense. Just a reminder: Derrick Henry had 159 total yards (84 running) week 1 against the Browns. Go “over”.

Odell Beckham Jr. to Score a TD (+115)

OBJ didn’t score week 1 but he has a good chance to do it tonight. Both Beckham Jr. and Baker Mayfield will come out trying to prove last week was just a fluke. They connect tonight.

Straight Up Winner CLE Browns (-275)

The Browns will bounce back and end the night (1-1). Cleveland's offensive power should make the difference for the visiting team.

Point Spread NY Jets +6.5 (-115)

Cleveland will win but it will be close. Perhaps a field goal to win the game? The Jets will make it interesting but will come up short. Browns 20-17 NY Jets.
