What a time to be alive for sports bettors in PA.
In June, Parx and BetRivers joined first-to-market SugarHouse in rolling out online sports betting.
Only last week, we witnessed Pennsylvania become only the fourth state to offer round-the-clock online casino gambling as Parx Casino and Penn’s National Hollywood Casino begun operations.
And now, the leading sportsbook of the New Jersey online market, FanDuel, will be live for online bettors by the end of the working week!
Not only will this elevate PA sports betting to another echelon, the arrival of FanDuel will allow sports bettors to wager as and when they like via a sportsbook widely considered to be the best around.
Current sports betting sites/apps in PA:
FanDuel sportsbook PA is expected to resemble that of NJ in terms of layout, odds and wagers made available.
But its main lure will be the iPhone app which meets the necessary guidelines to actually be in the App Store, a problem which had prevented SugarHouse from launching an iOS app initially and appealing to the masses.
Who knows, PA may even rival The Garden State when it comes to revenue also?
June brought record numbers for sports betting in Pennsylvania. Despite the summer lull in the sporting calendar and the existence of just one sportsbook (SugarHouse), PA pulled in $3.1 million in revenue.
Such figures certainly bode well with a jam packed sporting schedule to come this fall, while the arrival of FanDuel just whets the appetite for the new season that bit more.
