Already serving as the official daily fantasy partner of MLB, DraftKings have expanded their existing partnership with the league to become an ‘authorized gaming operator’.
Subsequently, Boston based DFS specialists turned sports betting trailblazers, now have permission to use official MLB data, along with MLB logos on its sports betting platforms.
Ezra Kucharz, Chief Business Officer of DraftKings, shared his thoughts on the deal, confirmed this week:
“This deal speaks to the commitment we have to our customers and sports leagues alike while providing the safest and most entertaining American-made sportsbook.”
Broken down, it’s a win-win for all parties
First and foremost, the bettor. Not only will the use of first-hand data increase the number of in-game MLB wagers, the speed and accuracy of the data will see wagers made available and settled quicker, an important aspect in engaging with the baseball fans of today and the next generation.
For DraftKings, the chance to implement official team logos and reliable data feeds into its sportsbook reinforces its position as a market leader and builds on authenticity.
Meanwhile, the league itself, will receive greater coverage through exposure and advertising at a time when the MLB has to compete with monster interest in the NFL.
Everyone's a winner!
