Is BetMGM legal in California?
Right now, no. California hasn't approved legal sports betting.
However, it's almost impossible to imagine that sports betting won't be legalized in the Golden State in the coming future given the rampant rise in the popularity of sports betting in the US.
The 2022 legislative session in CA will be crucial in how the state moves forward with plans for legal sports betting but given BetMGM’s success and countrywide appeal, one can expect BetMGM to feature heavily in any bidding process for a CA online sports betting license.
Is BetMGM legal in Texas?
No, at this moment legal sports betting in Texas doesn't exist.
But 2022 is shaping up to be a big year for many states considering sports betting bills and few come any bigger than Texas. Like CA, it’s thought should one of the proposals come to pass, late 2022 or early 2023 could be a potential timeframe for what will become one of the most lucrative sports betting markets in the US.
Given the lack of commercial casinos in Texas, any TX market is likely to be based solely online and will most likely include BetMGM.
